The mission of the Stratford Girls Lacrosse Club (SGLC) is to grow the club with girls who share core values of honoring the game in competitiveness, safety and character.

Our Middle School program was started in Fall 2010 to meet demand for girls lacrosse at younger ages in the community. The Middle School program strives to be both fun and competitive while building fundamental skills and passion for the game that will carry them into High School. The Middle School program is seen as critical to our long term success at the high school level.

The Middle School program is open to any middle school aged girls (grades 6 - 8) who are zoned to attend Stratford High School. This may include girls who attend Spring Forest Middle School, Memorial Middle School, Westchester Academy and Cornerstone Academy or any private school which does not have their own girls lacrosse program. Our program is also open to any middle school aged girls who are zoned for Katy I.S.D. schools until such time when a club is formed in Katy for middle school girls. At this time, there is no Katy middle school girls lacrosse club.

The schedule for each year is unique, but the Middle School program generally runs October through April according to the following high level schedule:

  • 2-3 practices a week October through April
  • 2 weekend tournaments/play days before the holidays
  • 1 or 2 weekend tournaments/play days in the Winter/Spring
  •  League Play mid-Feb to mid-late April (1 game per week typical)

Most tournaments/play days are in the greater Houston area but we do intend to do at least one traveling even per year to College Station, Dallas, or Austin.
